This past Christmas, the foundation assisted a family who had fallen on hard times. The family consisted of the parents, a hospitalized infant, two young children, and a grandmother. We, the NKK foundation, are thankful for this opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need and look forward to continuing to spread the joy, warmth, and spirit the holidays are meant to bring. R&R Ministry was founded by Mr. & Mrs. Rudy (Ruby) Dixie after seeing a need in our community for grieving families to not have to bear the added stress of coordinating food for the family and friends after the funeral service. By providing this service, families are now able to gather together after the service, share memories, have conversations, and enjoy being together without the added stress of coordinating food and cleaning. The NKK Foundation is grateful for the service R&R Ministry graciously provides to our community and donated to assist in a small way.

Richarh Tyson started Channel 27 News in June 2017 after seeing a real gap in local news coverage. He felt that people in our community needed a way to stay informed as things were happening, not days or weeks later. Channel 27 became more than a news page—it grew into a place where we come together to share information, find resources, and even help locate missing kids and pets. Mr. Tyson believes it’s about keeping our community connected and aware. Recently, he expanded into filmmaking. His film The Zuri Johnson Story, inspired by the real-life case of Skylea Carmack, is now streaming on Tubi.
